At the convention, a new demo for Miku would be presented and attendees would be able to try her voicebank there. It was confirmed that her pre-orders would be opened on August 24. In August, her official website was launched. This marked the first concert to ever use her Mandarin voicebank.
At the concert, she performed seven Japanese songs and one Chinese song. On April 22, 2017, Miku performed at B.I.G. On December 20, Wat tweeted that they were adjusting her pronunciation. He was hoping that the production would be packed up within the next two months. In addition, he mentioned that they were looking for scattered data in the voice scanning. On December 7, Wat tweeted that Miku Chinese is also dubbed "V4C" for "VOCALOID4 Chinese" rather than "V4X". He also wrote that he submitted the president a demo sample featuring the new voicebank and that the beta version of the voicebank had an increased clarity. He noted that a talkloid in a foreign language was finishing up its tuning. Prior to HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2016 in China, Wat posted a few tweets that were likely referring to the new Chinese voicebank. A talkloid featuring her Chinese voicebank was also shown. The advertisements also featured a silhouette, which hinted a new design for the voicebank, as well as introducing an upcoming website that allows fans to feature their works with her Chinese voicebank: poppro.cn.
According to the advertisements shown at the Expo, the voicebank was said to released "soon". On December 3, 2016, during HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2016 CHINA TOUR, it was announced that a Mandarin Chinese voicebank was in the works and the first demo, "Molihua", was showcased there. In 2014, Crypton expressed an interest in creating a Mandarin Chinese voicebank for Hatsune Miku.
